3-K & Pre-K FAQ

(For 3-year-olds.)

1- When will I know if I got in?

3-K offers are made in the spring. When offers are available, families who applied can access your results in MySchools.NYC; you can also opt to receive this letter by mail. Your letter may include an offer to a 3-K program. Due to demand, there's a chance not every 3-year-old will get into the 3-K program at Purple Crayon or other schools.

2- My child was accepted, what happens next?

Accept your child’s offer by the deadline. You can accept online with your MySchools.NYC account. After, wait to get an email from us regarding registration.

(For 4-year-olds.)

Pre-K offers are made in the spring. When offers are available, families who applied can access your results in MySchools.NYC; you can also opt to receive this letter by mail. Your letter will include an offer to a Pre-K program at Purple Crayon or somewhere else.

2- My child was accepted, what happens next?

Accept your child’s offer by the deadline. You can accept online with your MySchools.NYC account. After, wait to get an email from us regarding registration.

1- How will I know my child got accepted into your school?

You will use MySchools.NYC to access your child’s results or offer letter. This letter tells you which school or program your child has an offer to (if applicable), where your child is waitlisted (if applicable), and what to do next.

1- What are the chances my child gets a spot?

Priority:

- Current-Student 

- Sibling 

Non-Priority:

Each applicant is assigned a random number as part of the admissions process. If a program has fewer available seats than applicants within a priority group, these random numbers are used to determine the order in which students get offers.
